A RUSSIAN IN ARUNDEL
ROMAN USACHEV
Roman Usachev, who is 37 years of age, studied at the world-renowned Surikov Institute of Fine Art for 7 years. Although he began his working life as an engineer, he had always painted and was determined to pursue his ambition to become an artist. He submitted his portfolio to the Surikov Institute of Fine Art in Moscow and they offered him a place immediately. This was unheard of because in Russia art students have to go to local art colleges for arduous training before applying to such an advanced establishment.
His work reveals his great ability to convey light and depth in the scene he is creating, a rare talent to capture both people and places in sensitive detail.
Prospekt Art believes Roman has the ability and gift that excellence demands. Eminently successful in Russia, we would like to give him the opportunity to show his work to a greater, more aware audience; for that reason, we are bringing him to Arundel on 2 December. He will be working in our gallery for two weeks where you can watch him work or indeed commission a piece for a relatively modest outlay – a portrait for Christmas perhaps ?
His financial situation does not normally permit him to buy good canvases, nor to use expensive paint, let alone travel to exhibitions outside Moscow but we are also hoping to give him an exhibition in London in the near future.
This is a rare opportunity to watch and talk to a superb artist at work.
Prospekt Art 57A Tarrant Street Arundel.
We would be delighted to hear from anyone who would like to sponsor this fine artist.
